Welcome to my world(s).
Does who you are in a professional setting reflect who you are personally? If your answer is no, that’s ok. For many years, how I felt as a performer on-stage was confident, powerful and irresistible. When off-stage I felt insecure, insignificant and far less powerful. It took time, help, work and patience to learn that who I became on-stage existed within me no matter where I was.
I’m a Black man, a Gay man, a Survivor of sexual violence, a performer, a son, a lover, a friend…and I, like most of us, have had dark moments. I continue to deal with my fears so I can choose to come from a place of love. My life is now about how we can live in our own light, even when we are surrounded by darkness and I share my own journey so you will know you’re not alone.
Song and dance were my form of expression before I knew words were an option.
And so I came to consider dance a form of love.
